Shopping For A New Car

When my boss told me that he needed me to shop for some fleet vehicles for our business, I thought I would be getting a well-deserved break from work. Unfortunately, the task quickly snowballed into a giant ordeal. In addition to finding a dealer that we could trust, I also didn't really know how to decide between makes and models. However, after a lot of research, I was able to narrow down my choices. I was able to find a group of cars that our salespeople could drive comfortably, and it really helped our business to branch out. This blog is all about shopping for new cars, and how to avoid some of the more common pitfalls.

Buying A Motorcycle Trailer: Open Or Enclosed

If you're in the market for a motorcycle trailer, there are 2 common styles to choose from: open or enclosed. You may not know which one will work best for your needs, but when it comes to enclosed or open motorcycle sales, staying knowledgeable on the benefits of both styles is what will help make you a satisfied customer. Use this guide to help you pick a motorcycle trailer for your needs.

Security

Both enclosed and open motorcycle trailers have security options to help keep your bike safe and sturdy when traveling. Enclosed motorcycle trailers not only have room to house one or more bikes, they can also carry equipment, such as bags and helmets. They also protect your motorcycle against many things, such as:

  • rain and snow
  • wind
  • theft
  • damage while traveling
  • sun damage
  • rocks and debris

An open trailer has holes and partitions for attaching chains and ropes to secure your bike upright and help prevent theft, but is unable to protect your motorcycle against weather elements or exposure to rocks. If you are particularly concerned about your property, getting an enclosed motorcycle trailer is your safest option.

Cost

If cost is an issue, then an open motorcycle trailer is often your cheapest option. Enclosed motorcycle trailer sales vary, from $1,000 to upwards of $15,000, depending on the size of the axle and how much room you need. Likewise, an open basic trailer can cost you under $1,000. If you have a smaller budget, buying used models of open or enclosed motorcycle trailers is often your wisest option. Just make sure you choose one that comes with a warranty if you buy a used model of trailer.

Convenience

A basic open motorcycle trailer is usually hauled behind a pickup or SUV, and comes with few options for hauling other than the chocks, rails, ramp, and tie-downs needed for travel. An enclosed motorcycle trailer is usually priced upon the size of the axle for hauling and the size of the trailer itself. If you are looking for an easy hauler, then a basic open trailer is your best option.

Buying a motorcycle trailer can help you haul your bike from one location to another quickly and efficiently. If you want added security and more storage options, an enclosed motorcycle is going to be the best option for you. If you want a basic hauling trailer, then an open one should suit your needs. Explore both options at a trailer distributor like Ace Trailer Sales to see which one will work best for you and your motorcycling hobby.
